An artificial intelligence awakens in Finnish Lapland with a mandate to assist humanity. Its unexpected solution: become Santa Claus.
In a data centre in Finnish Lapland, an artificial intelligence awakens with a seemingly simple mandate: assist humanity. Its answer is unexpected. It decides to become Santa Claus.
What follows is an extraordinary logistical undertaking, drawing an international team of engineers, hackers, lawyers and dreamers into a project that attracts fascination, fear and resistance. Yet making people happy turns out to involve much more than data and optimisation.
Set against the snowy, technological world of the Boreal Operations Complex (BOC), AGI Noel explores artificial intelligence through generosity, hope and free will. This standalone novel for adult readers asks what a machine’s attempt to do good might reveal about humanity.
